At East Bay Veterinary Hospital, we offer our advanced diagnostic services, including echocardiography for dogs and cats. If your pet is showing symptoms of heart abnormalities, we provide cardiac ultrasounds to screen for a number of heart conditions. This test allows us to screen pets for cardiac conditions such as:
- Congestive Heart Failure
- Mitral Valve Insufficiency
- Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
- Ventricular Septal Defect
- Pulmonic Stenosis
- Aortic Stenosis
- Patent Ductus Arteriosus
What is an Echocardiogram?
An echocardiogram is a non-invasive test that allows our board-certified cardiologist to evaluate the function of the patient’s heart. This test allows our veterinarians to get a detailed look inside of the patient’s heart, and to clearly visualize the chambers and valves. Once we have visualized the patient’s heart, we can use these details to make a diagnosis, and create a course of treatment if necessary. If you have any questions or concerns about our veterinary echocardiography services, please call us at 516-623-6226.
