Stephanie Waters-Lemma, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Stephanie Waters-Lemma is a true member of the local community. She was born and raised in Merrick and now currently resides in Bellmore. In fact, Dr. Gary Selmonsky has been her family veterinarian for over 25 years.
Dr. Waters-Lemma received her Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Vet from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her Doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While pursuing her degrees and even today, Dr. Waters-Lemma volunteers at local shelters providing services including spays/neuters, homeless community pet wellness, behavior modification and preventative care. Prior to joining the East Bay Family, Dr. Waters-Lemma worked at a busy veterinary hospital in Western Nassau serving both North Shore Long Island and NYC patients.
Dr. Waters-Lemmas special interests include low stress handling and behavior modification. She is currently a “Level 3 Fear Free Veterinarian”. This certification concentrates on decreasing the patient’s fear, anxiety and stress in the hospital and at home, while strengthening the human-animal bond. Dr. Waters-Lemma also has great interest in preventative medicine, behavior medicine, internal medicine and surgery. In her spare time she rigorously pursues continuing education to insure she stays up to date with all of the latest procedures and research in the Veterinary field.
Dr. Waters-Lemmas favorite hobbies include cuddling with her cats and walking her pit/lab mix named Revit!
